ABA Therapy near West Rogers Park, Chicago
The idea for Stride stems from a strong personal desire to provide help for those with autism. Growing up alongside a sister living with Rett Syndrome, an uncompromising autism-related disorder, our founder developed a clear understanding that personalized care and therapies early in life are critical to creating vital opportunities for independent activity and positive social engagement with family, friends and peers.
We carefully designed our multifaceted full-day program for preschool-age children based on a thorough assessment of the latest in autism therapy research and analysis. Stride Autism Centers specialize in addressing the specific needs of children 2 to 6 because that is the age group where we can make the most substantial positive difference. Ultimately, the sooner your child gets the help they require, the more likely they are to excel much as possible as they go through life. Having them go through in-depth ABA therapy while young creates the strongest likelihood for success in establishing a robust foundation from which they can grow and prosper.
Our West Rogers Park Autism Program
Stride’s West Rogers Park, Chicago Autism Program is set up as a full-day learning and therapeutic experience for children with autism between the ages of 2 and 6. A typical day at our center incorporates two central approaches:
One-on-One Therapy
Children at Stride receive numerous hours of highly focused attention structured just for them. In order to minimize possible disruptions and enable your child to derive the most benefit possible from working with their dedicated therapist, we utilize carefully thought out instructional spaces.
In these sessions, our therapist helps your child work on individualized goals that respond to their needs in a manner that is both productive and thoroughly encouraging. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) can make a significant difference in many high-value areas, including improving both nonverbal and verbal communication skills along with the capacity for self care. Stride also helps children reduce problematic behaviors, and addresses any other issues highlighted by your family as well as by our team of professionals.
Group Activities
For people with an autism spectrum disorder, some of the most significant challenges involve deficits in communication and socialization skills. As a means of effectively working through these challenges, Stride gives children the great opportunity to socialize with peers in a carefully controlled yet natural environment. Engaging in enjoyable activities including arts and crafts and free play enables them to experience a variety of important “teachable moments” that impart valuable lessons and bolster their overall learning.
Circle time is something that children look forward to on a daily basis, and our expansive playground areas are ideal for many types of useful group exercises. With the group learning and socialization activities, our main goal is to enhance your child’s school readiness while also giving them the tools and practice required to develop and sustain good relationships with those around them.
As wasted time is wasted opportunity, each day at Stride is used to its fullest potential in catering to your child’s needs and helping them learn and grow. How Our ABA Therapists Can Help Your Child
Applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy is essential to our program because it has been painstakingly assessed, and has shown to have tremendous efficacy for individuals on the autism spectrum. ABA starts with a thorough assessment of your child, which allows us to get a comprehensive understanding of the kinds and scope of their unique needs. Once this evaluation is complete, our team puts together a customized program and sets it in motion in our safe and welcoming setting. All components of our child autism program near West Rogers Park, Chicago help your child build on their skills and refrain from destructive behaviors that can make daily life more arduous. At Stride, we want your child to reach their fullest potential in school and in everyday living.
