Hear From Families Like Yours in Clive

Stride is our village. Our second family. All the fear and uncertainty for my son’s future went out the window as soon as we had our first session. They’ve truly changed our lives!!
A Place That Truly Changed Our Lives

We absolutely love Stride. The staff and BCBA are beyond amazing—each person there is truly passionate and compassionate, and it shows in everything they do. It takes a special kind of heart to do this work, and the team at Stride genuinely cares.

Our daughter Ela spent over a year at Stride, and the bond she formed with the staff is something we will cherish forever. I cannot speak highly enough of this facility. They helped Ela go from crawling to walking, gaining independence we never thought possible. Her progress in fine motor skills was remarkable—things I never imagined she could do, she did with their support.

Stride didn’t just help Ela; they helped us as a family. They guided us through every step, encouraged us when we felt defeated, and gave us the strength to keep advocating for her. Ms. Victoria played a huge role in this journey, and we will be forever grateful. I built a beautiful relationship with her, and her kindness and dedication meant the world to us.

Ela was always well cared for. She had her own room, her own staff, and we never had any worries or concerns. Unfortunately, due to life changes and a longer commute, we had to make the difficult decision to leave.

Saying goodbye to Stride was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do—as a family and especially for our daughter, Elanor. Watching her cry, seeing her grasp the magnitude of this life change, broke our hearts. The bond she formed with the staff was so strong, so genuine, that leaving felt like losing a part of our extended family.

If I could, I would take the entire staff with me. I would recreate the facility just to keep Ela surrounded by the love, care, and support she received every single day. Stride wasn’t just a therapy center—it was a home, a safe haven, and a place where miracles happened.

Elanor and I will forever be grateful. We love you, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you’ve done. You helped our daughter walk, grow, and thrive. You lifted us up when we felt defeated. You gave us hope, strength, and a community that we will always cherish.

Thank you for being part of our journey. You’ll always be in our hearts.
My son has been at Stride for over a year now and we have nothing but pure appreciation for everyone at his clinic. In the year that he has been there we have seen huge leaps in all aspects of his development and still do every day!
Stride has helped my boy improve in many ways. Thankful I found out about Stride. The staff is so nice and always willing to help.
Stride and its amazing caring staff helped our son in ways we never knew were possible. Highly recommend if you are looking into ABA therapy to check them out!
Our son went here for almost 3 years and he loved it and made tremendous progress. He is now in Kindergarten this year, that would not have been possible without Stride's help. Thank you to all the RBT's and BCBA's at the Johnston Stride!!! We are forever grateful to you all.
My daughter attended Stride for two years, and as a mother, I've noticed significant improvements in her. The teachers are patient and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this place.
My son absolutely loves going to Stride! I could not ask for a better experience for him socially, emotionally, academically, or on an individual needs curriculum. The weekly meeting with staff is incredibly helpful, and really helps ease all anxiety and fears about the future for my child!
My 2 year old is non verbal and has been with Stride for a little over a month now and has made amazing progress. We are starting to see so much more understanding and attention from him. I was so anxious to be apart from him for full days, but he is so excited to go each morning. He is pointing to things he wants, making more sounds and saying new words (randomly that we didn’t even know he could say). He is now walking independently to and from the car while holding my hand and beginning to be more confident in climbing and exploring at the park. So grateful for our Stride team and how much they care for my babe.

ABA Therapy

Common Questions About Our Center

ABA is the gold standard for treating autism and is the most widely studied and effective treatment available. ABA is recommended by major American medical associations and the US Surgeon General. CBT is generally not the best fit for preschool-aged children with autism, especially those with minimal communication skills.

Some children with autism have symptoms that can be supported by occupational therapy (OT), such as sensory sensitivities or gross motor challenges. Stride partners with local OT providers, as applicable, to ensure proper coordination of care. That said, ABA is typically the therapy that makes the biggest difference for children with autism.

Decades of clinical studies have shown that young children with autism who received intensive ABA therapy demonstrated:

  1. Larger increases in IQ and adaptive functioning
  2. Fewer challenging behaviors and social problems
  3. Increased likelihood of fully joining regular education without assistance

ABA uses positive reinforcement to promote increases in desirable behaviors. As a result, we see its application across a wide range of uses. From school settings where teachers reinforce participation and task completion to marketing executives who develop loyalty programs, ABA is everywhere.

Your involvement is key to your child’s success. We provide regular updates, training sessions, and opportunities to collaborate so you feel empowered to support your child at home.

We’re here to make the process as simple as possible. Contact us through our website or call the center closest to you. Our team will walk you through assessments, insurance details, and the next steps. Learn more about the Enrollment Process.

If your child has autism or is showing developmental delays, ABA therapy could make a big difference. Reach out to us, and we’ll help assess your child’s unique needs and potential benefits.

ABA can be helpful until therapy goals are met or if progress is not being made. Stride specializes in supporting preschool children ages 2 through 6 with the goal of making significant and meaningful progress that reduces the need for continued ABA post-Stride. For children who can benefit from continued ABA after the age of 6, Stride can provide a referral to other organizations that can provide care in-home or after school.

Absolutely. Every child is different, and we take the time to create a therapy plan tailored specifically to your child’s strengths, challenges, and goals.

Research shows that the earlier we intervene and begin therapy, the better the outcomes. This makes intuitive sense as kids have greater plasticity in their behavior the younger they are.

As kids grow older, they develop compensatory habits that make it more difficult to teach new, positive skills. For these reasons and more, Stride specializes in supporting preschool-aged children (ages 2 to 6) with autism. Typically, the earliest someone can be diagnosed with autism is 18 months old. Beginning ABA shortly after that is optimal for families who want their children to realize their potential.

If your child has autism or is showing developmental delays, ABA therapy could make a big difference. Reach out to us, and we’ll help assess your child’s unique needs and potential benefits.

Costs can vary, but most insurance plans cover ABA therapy when medically necessary. We’ll work with you to confirm coverage and help minimize out-of-pocket expenses.
