ABA Therapy near Edenton North
Stride was founded out of a deep desire to help children with autism. Our founder’s sister lives with Rett Syndrome, a severe autism-related disorder. As a child, he witnessed firsthand the importance of early intervention and personalized attention in creating opportunities for those with autism to socialize and be independent.
Stride’s intensive program is designed for preschool-aged children and is based on the most current research in autism therapy. We specialize in addressing the needs of preschool children because that’s where the greatest impact can be made. The earlier your child receives the help that they need, the better off they will be. If we support them with intensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy early on, we can lay a strong foundation for their future.
Our Edenton North Autism Program
Stride’s Edenton North Program offers a full-day experience for children aged 2-6. Stride employs two complementary therapeutic approaches on a typical day:
One-on-One Therapy
Your child will get multiple hours of personal, focused attention. We have instruction spaces that are designed to minimize distractions and allow your child to work with their therapist most effectively.
These sessions help your child to focus on the goals that are most important to them. It could be increasing their self-care or communication skills, reducing problematic behaviors, or anything else the family, along with our team, have identified.
Group Activities
Communication and socialization are two of the most important challenges for those on the autism spectrum. Children are able to interact and play in a structured, but naturalistic, setting at our centers. They have the opportunity to learn while they have fun and engage in activities such as art or free play.
Our centers include open space areas that can be used for group activities, and we incorporate circle time into the daily schedule. Our goal is to help your child get ready for school. We also want to teach them how to develop positive relationships with peers.
Each day is completely customized to meet your child’s needs. To give you an idea of the day at Stride Lincoln, please see our Program page.
How Our Edenton North ABA Therapists Can Help Your Child
ABA therapy that focuses on assessing and modifying behavior has been widely studied and found to be effective for individuals on the autism spectrum. ABA starts with a comprehensive evaluation of your child, so that we can better understand their needs. Then we develop a personalized program and implement it within a natural, safe and friendly environment. This will allow your child to develop the skills necessary to avoid challenging behaviors and help them succeed academically as well as socially.
